Happy Birthday Princess!

So, this upcoming months challenge was to make something with pumpkins.  I know people were probably thinking Fall, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc.  but I decided to think outside the box and and go with Disney!

I typed the sayings "Wishing You"  and "A Magical Birthday" and printed it on vellum.  The pumpkin is a layered effect  Each piece of the pumpkin I hand drew, cut out and inked.  The door is also a separate piece I did, that opens up so you can put a picture of the princess in there.
The wheels are made from buttons and the grass is a vellum sticker from Mrs,. Grossman.

I am really happy how this turned out!

Enjoy!

Happy 70th Birthday to my dad!

70 years has come so fast, I pray for many more. (o=
Love you DAD!

This is my wonderful dad!  Oh and my wonderful mom too!
I made this video for my dad of him growing up and all the things he has done in his life.  My mom had to help me with  this.  I put all the pictures in, cropped them, etc.  She placed them in the timeline and I added the music.  I know he will really enjoy this!
This is the front of the card I made for him.  (o=

This is the inside of the card. I wrote the poem for him also.
I write poems for everything...lol  Mostly funerals and birthdays though.

Well, that is all...but you all should know that even through our difficult moments, he still means the world to me and I am so proud to call him my father!
Happy Birthday Dad!

Scrapbook Stamp Societies Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever blog hop combining Scrapbook Place and Scrapbook StampSociety!!
This hop has wonderful designers from the Scrapbook Place using amazing images from artists of Scrapbook Stamp Society to create some delightful cards for your enjoyment. Each design team member has used an image from Scrapbook Stamp Society, http://scrapbookstampsociety.com/vendors.php in their creations. Please hop though the blogs below and leave a little comment on each blog in the hop. There's a prize today from Scrapbook Stamp Society, that will given to a winner selected at random chosen on Sunday afternoon. The winner will be announced and posted both on the Scrapbook Stamp Society blog and the Scrapbook Place blog. Good Luck everyone!

I used this wonderful cute image of the pig looking over the fence.  I cut out the image and placed it on baby blue embossed polka dot card stock. I then took a piece of embossed wood card stock and used a spellbinder die to cut out the middle of it.  I placed this over the blue and pop dotted it up for a 3-D effect.  I then cut out some leaves with a spellbinder die, accented them and glued them on.  For a finishing touch I added some Prima flowers with buttons.

I made up the saying for the inside and just printed it off on my computer.

Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Happy Independence Week!

I have to start off by saying this is a tearful time of year for me.  My brother passed away July 3rd, 2008.  Since then, the Fourth of July has never been the same.  He will always be in my heart.

Now onto the fun cards!

Below is a fun Independence Image that Pam at http://pammiescraftroom.blogspot.com/ designed!

I had fun with this one!  After coloring the image, I sponged the background and added glitter to the white of the flag and to some of the flowers.  I then added some wonderful firework stickers.  I just love those!

Another fun card I did is the American Horse card.
This one was fun to make also.  I stamped a solid block square stamp. I then took the edge of a red pad and swept across the card to make the stripes.  I distressed the edges with black.  I then stamped the horse image, colored it, cut it out and placed it over the flag.

I hope you had fun swinging by my blog.  Please be sure to hop along to the other blogs!

Enjoy!

Happy Mothers Day!

So, I wanted to do something special for my mother, as we all do.  I had gone into Craft Warehouse and was inspired by something they had made and had hanging.  So, I thought I would try my hand at doing one.  It is a canvas on canvas piece.

I used a designer series paper from Stampin Up.  The upper left picture is of my dad when he was young.  The
upper right picture is of my mom when she was young.  The bottom left is a picture of them on a date and the bottom right was a from a few years ago.  They will be married 50 years the winter.

I added crystal bling, copper cording, paper flowers, and a fun clock accent with two keys.

I like how it turned out and will be making another one, but of my dogs I think.

Enjoy!

squigglefly challenge #20

this week's challenge, SFC2012 Use a Square Peg in a Round Hole!

Think OUTSIDE the box!  Let me explain this Challenge:  we always seem to use standard things--round buttons, straight ribbons, rectangular 1/4 size cards,.... Instead: make a card that uses something usual: Pick a different card shape OR find some weird buttons OR use that unusual paper....pick out a different odd embellishment OR even better, use something you would never think goes on a card and inspire us all!

Recipe for this card include;

Tim Holtz angel die
Tim Holtz music sheet embossing folder
SU silver cording (retired)
Silver star buttons
squigglefly saying "angels"
Silver metal sheet
Black cardstock

all I did for this one is emboss the music sheet on black.  Die cut the angel wings and embossed with music sheet.  Wrapped silver cording around cardstock and glued down the wings. I pop dotted the second wing for more dimension.  I printed out the saying "angels" and cut around it and glued it down.  Then I tied some silver cording through the stars and glued them down.  Wallah!  A fun angel card.
Enjoy!

Parents Day Blog Hop (o=

I want to wish a special Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!
Even to those four pawed kids of ours, (yes I am one of them).
I would also like to wish a special Father's Day to all the fathers out there!

Today we are paying tribute to PARENTS!

I have the best parents in the world (to me).  My parents have been there for me during my
rough times and my happy times.  Whenever I am in need of something whether it be a friend, money or food,
they have always been there for me and I can't say thank you enough to them for all of their love
and support of me.  My parents are even willing to come over and pick up my dog poo in my
yard because I can't do it.  Well, mom does it......dad watches the dogs. lol

My first card is my Mothers Day card for my wonderful mom.

The following is the recipe I used on this one;
  • Tim Holtz die bird cage and bird
  • SU designer series patterned paper
  • SU floral rose accents
  • Su lucky limeade ribbon
  • SU ink pad soft sky
  • clear 1/2 round plastic crystals
  • SU scallop oval punch
  • Ciao light blue/light brown/peach markers
  • Pop dots/glue
First I place the background paper down and left a 1/4" white border
Then I took another pattern and tore it. I then distressed the edges with the blue ink and
placed it over the first pattern.  I then distressed the edges of the white with the blue ink.
Next I cut out the birdcage and bird.  I used my stamp pad and stamped the bird cage to give a blue mist
look.  I added the green ribbon lacing the holes at the bottom of the cage.
I did the bird the same way, pressing the stamp pad on it.  I then used a light blue ciao marker and filled in
the white and edged the bird to give it some depth.  I placed the bird  behind the cage.  I then put some green ribbon through the hole at the top and bent it behind the patterned paper to make it look like it was hanging.  I added the rose to the top.  I then printed out the words on my computer and used the scallop oval punch.  After gluing it down I added the two crystals.

My second card without detailed info was last years Mothers day card.

My third card without detailed info was last years Fathers day card.

I thank you for stopping by and wish you continued health and happiness throughout the year!
As always I LOVE the read the comments!  Please feel free to leave one.

In Memory Of

This is a memorial box I made for a friend in a group of mine.  This is her niece.
She passed away in a car accident.  I also
made up the poem to go with it.

It reads:

Angelica’s poem
Sunday, April 22nd 2012

The angels called from heaven
And said they needed you today
They whisked you from the earth
So very quickly that Sunday
They said that you had done
 All that you could do
That your time on earth
Was sadly all through
You didn’t understand
“How could they
 Take you away?
From your family, your friends
 And your children that day?
They were not even grown
No one could take your place
And love them as their own
To kiss their little face”
But the angels simply said
That the love for them was plenty
They have all had so many years with you
More years than twenty
“I haven’t seen them go to prom
Or even kiss another
That is my job here on the earth
To be the best mother”
Do not worry my angel,
They said
You will watch from the heavens,
 Their future ahead
Your family and friends
With smother them with love
And tell them of you
And the heavens above
They will tell of the stories
Of your time here on earth
Of the joy that you gave them
Upon both their births
They will wake every morning
Aware of your love
Of kisses from heaven
From here up above
Do not weep for your children
Or the time you will miss
Just know that all love you
And you will be missed

I did not know her at all.  But according to the family
the poem was to the T of her.  They were very pleased with it.

April Fools Day Blog Hop!

“Welcome to the Scrapbook Place FOOLISH BLOG HOP! Today you’ll see some funny cards and projects that will get your giggles going or treat you to a surprise. All projects are inspired by or feature April Fools!
If you came here from Mel’s blog you’re on the right path. If not you can start HERE your scrapbook place
For my project I used the grape image from floppy lattes digital designs.  At first I wasn't sure how I could make any of the images I was given into a funny card.  But then I remember a shirt that I used to carry in my store and it had grapes on it with the saying "Whip me" "Crush me" "Make me Wine!" and I thought it would be perfect!  I hope you enjoy it!

As an added card I did used a fun image from squigglefly.  I thought this was so cute and I have been wanting to use it.  So I colored her with copic markers (still getting used to these).  I added crystal effects to the glasses and to the mouse's eyes.

I hope the inside does not offend anyone.  lol

Next stop on the Hop is Linda. Don’t forget to leave a little love before hopping away. One lucky person who leaves a comment on every blog will receive a $10 gift coupon for Floppy Latte's Digital Designs, our sponsor.
If you lose your way, here’s the hop order:

Snow Snow Go Away!

I am selling pre-embossed images on my webstore.  Someone had asked "What do you do with them?"
So I told her I would make a couple of samples.

snowman trio

This is the first one.  I chalked in the areas with a q-tip.  I added stickles for the snow and some
of the snow dots.  Then I added some bling.

This one I colored with copic markers, added the stickles and the bling.
I used a cotton ball for the red hat.

This third one is using watercolor pencils, stickles and buttons.
Three different looks with the same embossed template.

Enjoy!

Fairy Wishes!

This was a fun card to make!

I stamped the image of the fairy on white cardstock with stazon ink.
Then I colored it in using copic markers. I just bought these so I am still playing with them
trying to get a feel of what I can do with them.
For the background I took two printed papers and tore them
so it was half n half
I used Crystal Effects on the dew drops

I typed out the words fairy wishes on my computer,
printed it out and placed it adding a touch of color on the edges with
cats eye chalk in yellow

The insides says - For a Very Happy Birthday!

White on white - so beautiful

White on White is very hard to photograph

I did these cards the other day at an all day crop.

They are embossed and then I embossed the butterflies separately and added them.

I did one with clear rhinestones and the other with white pearls.
I saw this design on pinterest I believe.

Time for Spring!

Spring is in the air!  I just love embossing!  It is a favorite of mine!

With this card I used one of the SU embossing
folders and cut around the design.
I overlaid it on a white background that
I distressed with pink ink to match.

A few added bling, a butterfly and a saying top of this fun card!
